“This theatre piece is not for those who like a nice, straightforward play. It isn’t a play at all, it is a show that takes us on an emotional journey, that invites us to process our own frustrations, guilt, rage, hope. It engages and reflects the challenges of womanhood.”
The Ideal Woman
Women have been worshipped since the beginning of time.
Regardless of geography, women have always been
symbols of
Innocence
Purity
Beauty
Abundance.
Yes, all of those dainty pretty stuff.
As women, we carry a huge burden on our shoulders
that’s been passed down by women who lived
before us.
A burden that is the fantasy of what feminine looks like, feels like, smells and tastes like.
Trailers

The idea of what a woman should be is deeply engraved in our culture, history and evidenced in the language that we use. This is a juxtaposition to the kind of language we use to describe an ideal woman in a contemporary setting; independent, strong, confident, motivated.
“The Ideal Woman” aims to dig into this time warp of the transcendental woman; will we be able to find a space where the past and the present exist in peace?
Or would it be a war that can never end with a truce?
