The rain. Our childhoods. Our traditions. The things we run away from. The things we move towards. Missing home and wanting to go away. The man who dreamt of drowning in the ocean. The park in Taman Mayang. The dark street waiting for a teksi. A roadtrip with coffee and doughnuts. Tearing down trees for a highway.

The word “riwayat” can be translated as the chronicles of one's life, a history, an anecdote, a narrative, a convention, a tradition. What does your riwayat contain? What are your histories, anecdotes, and narratives? Here are ours. Are they similar? Do you feel the same? Or are you different? Are we?
RIWAYAT is a new theatrical piece of movement, text in multiple languages, and music – all devised and performed by our ensemble. Directed by theatrethreesixty's Artist-in-Residence Tung Jit Yang.
